Youth Theater of Uzbekistan

One of the oldest theaters in Central Asia is the Youth Theater of Uzbekistan, established on April 30, 1928. Its founders are doctor S. Etienne and the artist S. Malt open the theater where the premiere of "Uncle Tom's Cabin" took place for the first time. Despite the fact that it was difficult to work without their own premises, without decorations and costumes, they nevertheless succeeded, wanting to bring the joy of performing arts to the children.

On May 13, 1967, there was a division into two separate theaters – two Theaters for the Young Audience. Along with fairy tales for children, the theater also staged problematic performances for high school students: "The Zatyukany Apostol", "The Man and the Shadow", "The Lizard", "The Teacher of the XXI century", "Dear Elena Sergeevna".

In 1991, Nabi Abdurakhmanov, an Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, became the head of the theater. It is to him that the creative growth and success of the theater belong. In the same year, a Drama School was opened at the theater, the best graduates of which become members of the theater troupe. In 1998, on the initiative of the Youth Theater team, it was renamed the Youth Theater of Uzbekistan.

Today, the theater's repertoire includes about 40 performances, both for youth and adult audiences. The Youth Theater of Uzbekistan has participated in many international theater festivals. He is currently touring abroad with great success.
