Sarmysh-Sai Gorge
The Sarmysh-Sai cave is located on the southern slope of Mount Karatau, 30 km from the city of Navoi. Tourists are primarily interested in the opportunity to see numerous traces of ancient human habitation here.
Petroglyphs are located on the territory of more than two kilometers throughout the gorge. Most of the rock carvings were made 4-6 thousand years ago, and some, the oldest, are more than 10 thousand years old. There are legends about Sarmysh-Sai among the locals. They say that mysterious flying objects have even been seen here.
On the walls of the gorge, you can see both easily recognizable objects — silhouettes of people and animals, as well as very strange images — for example, people in suits resembling spacesuits and people with two heads.
