Tuyabuguz reservoir

The Tuyabuguz reservoir is better known as the Tashkent Sea or Tashmore. It is located 30 km south of Tashkent on the Akhangaran River and performs important tasks of filling two canals that irrigate large areas of agricultural land.

Soon after the reservoir was filled in 1962, Tashmore became a favorite vacation spot in the capital of Uzbekistan. The size of the reservoir reached 15x3 km, with an average depth of 12.5 m. During the Soviet era, it was possible to combine the need for irrigation water with the organization of summer holidays. Since the early 1990s, the situation has been changing.

Public transport stopped coming here, and the shores were taken over for individual construction. The irrigation season, which begins on July 1, has a particularly negative effect, turning the location into a large puddle. The recreation area has almost ceased to exist.
