Lake Shabyrkul

Lake Shabyrkul was formed due to the dam that blocked the Shabyrsai River. The dam was formed naturally after the collapse of rocks in the mountains of Talas Alatau. The reservoir, which appeared at an altitude of more than 2,700 m above sea level, became the largest mountain lake in the Tashkent region. And although its water flows through the blockage in several places, the lake level does not decrease from this.

Leaks affect only the lands that have turned into a swamp. Shabyrkul is not like azure mountain lakes with clear water. The water in it is cloudy, whitish in color. The length of the natural landmark of Uzbekistan is 1.5 km, the width varies about 300 m, and the depth reaches 17.4 m.
