Karkidon reservoir
The Karkidon reservoir is a picturesque natural water complex formed by mountain rivers and underground springs flowing into it.
The surrounding hills, steppe landscapes and the expanse of blue water create a surprisingly harmonious picture, which is why the reservoir is often called the "Ferghana Sea".
The area of the reservoir is about 8 km2, and the volume of water reaches about 50 million m3. The water comes here from mountain rivers originating in the foothills of the Alai range, which ensures the purity and transparency of the reservoir.
The shores are sandy in places, rocky in places, with sloping areas, convenient for recreation and fishing. In spring and summer, it is especially beautiful here — steppe grasses bloom around, and herons and ducks soar above the water.
