Yangiabad Bazaar
The Yangiabad Bazaar or Yangiabad Market is one of the largest flea markets in the former Soviet Union. They trade here spontaneously — ordinary people come with their valuable and unnecessary items on weekends. Prices range from the lowest to above average.
The range is wide: fishing rods, bicycles, antique furniture, Soviet crystal, vintage clothes, car parts, old magazines and books, etc. Locals say that "everything can be found here, and even more." There are several clothing departments with new clothes. There are also food stalls and animal dealers.
Before the appearance of Yangiabad, there was an equally well-known Thesis in the USSR. It was formed by the railway, and was named after the merchant. His cottage stood nearby, but was not preserved — it burned down. The market square existed until the end of the 1990s. Then the city authorities closed the place and moved everything to the outskirts of Tashkent. In the early 2000s, the modern space appeared. There are few tourists, the main audience is residents of the city and nearby settlements.
