The building of the Kokand branch of the Russian-Asian Bank

Built as a banking institution, the building has changed owners several times, but not the type of activity. Today, just like a century ago, there is a banking structure here. It's about Pakhta Bank, which replaced the Soviet State-owned bank.

The building of this financial institution was built in 1911. The author of the project was the famous architect Ivan Markevich. A distinctive feature of the Turkestan Art Nouveau building is its asymmetrical composition. The entrance gates are made of wrought iron with curved grid lines.

The facade is decorated with tall rectangular windows, above them there is a second row of round window openings. There is a dome on the roof, decorated with stone cups around the perimeter. The upper part of the walls is occupied by bas-reliefs with stylized floral ornaments.

The interior of the interior space has retained its original appearance. The ceiling is decorated with carved wood, the polygonal lobby has a mosaic floor, and bronze decorations on the walls. All this splendor seemed to stop time, not changing even after a century.
