Happy Bird Art Gallery
A special atmosphere and homely comfort await you in the small art gallery "Happy Bird", located in the historic building of the caravanserai of the last century, where the Samarkand artisan center now operates. Luxurious handmade Uzbek carpets, national-style clothing, blue-white and brown-green variegated ceramics, antique jewelry, paintings embroidered with intricate patterns of suzane, figurines, graphics decorate the art gallery, like details of a luxurious, but at the same time homely, informal interior, in which the director of the "Happy birds" and art critic Elena Ladik.
Ali Baba's Cave is the name given to this gallery by admiring visitors. Indeed, each of the works of art carefully preserved here is unique. These are the works of ancient masters and modern recognized authors: the latter not only exhibit their works here, but are also regular visitors to the art salon.
Most of the items on display can be bought, but selling is not the main purpose of the Happy Bird. Elena Ladik emphasizes: "The loss of authenticity is a sad phenomenon happening in the world. Surrogates, whether artificial products, synthetic fabrics, or connections between people in which there is no sincerity, have filled all spheres of existence. Keeping the quality at least at the level of the material and cultural values and human relationships offered by the gallery is the priority of the Happy Bird." The masters of the art gallery buy antique fabrics from Samarkand residents, which have been stored at home in chests for several decades, and sew vintage clothes. Dresses and suits amaze with the quality of their cut and materials.
The gallery invites everyone who is interested in folk crafts and art to visit the exhibition and get acquainted with the work of recognized Uzbek authors. In addition, the Happy Bird art Gallery is very fond of treating visitors to fragrant coffee made over a small open fire.
