Church of the Archangel Michael
Archangel Michael Church is an active Orthodox church of the Tashkent and Uzbekistan Diocese of the Central Asian Metropolitan District of the Russian Orthodox Church, located in the city of Namangan (Uzbekistan). Dedicated to the Holy Archangel Michael
After the persecution of believers began (1929-1935), many churches in the USSR were closed and demolished. The same fate befell the Church of Archangel Michael in Namangan. After the war, the community received relief and bought an apartment building, where a new church was organized in 1952.
An iconostasis is installed inside the temple, and there is a bell tower in the courtyard. Due to its small size, the church does not always accommodate everyone on holidays: for example, 100 believers came to the Easter service in 2012, about 150 to the Christmas service in 2013, and about 200 in 2015.
