Vadyaevs' House

The former home of the Vadyaevs, the richest merchants of the pre-revolutionary period, is located in the center of Kokand. The mansion was built in 1907 and is considered one of the best, notable and colorful buildings in the central part of the city.

The building looks very impressive. The original entrance openings of the main entrances are preceded by wide stone stairs, as the building has a high basement. The wings of the house are symmetrically located on two streets at once. There is an impressive dome on the roof above each main entrance, with a spire on top.

On the inside, the Vadyaevs' house has a luxurious ivan and a covered terrace. There is a garden in the courtyard. Guests of Kokand are free to visit the building for inspection — it is now occupied by the city Hall. Once upon a time, before the establishment of Soviet power, the house was rented by various commercial banks.
