Ulugbek Madrasah in Gijduvan
Hundreds of tourists and pilgrims from all over the world come here all the time. When more than two centuries have passed since the death of the theologian, a madrasa was built near the tomb by decree of Ulugbek. In total, during his lifetime, the philosopher Gijduvani founded three educational institutions.
The madrasah impresses with its splendor, becoming the most authentic architectural monument in the city. The most renowned and skilled craftsmen from all over Asia came to the city to work on the creation of this building. Exquisite lines of window openings and entrances, magnificent decorative elements and decoration, harmonious overall ensemble — all this is Ulugbek madrasah, built in honor of the ancient theologian. It still functions to this day, teaching spiritual disciplines and various sciences to the students of the region.
