The National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan
The National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan is the true pride and cultural flagship of the republic, whose history dates back to 1937. Created at the Uzbek Philharmonic, the band has played a key role in the formation and development of the academic musical culture of the country for decades, and in 1998 it deservedly received the status of a National one.
Throughout its long and rich history, the orchestra has performed on the same stage with such world stage legends as Mstislav Rostropovich, David Oistrakh and Emil Gilels, which confirms the highest professional level of the band. Today, the NSO is actively touring and, according to international press estimates, is rightfully considered one of the leading orchestras in Central Asia.
The team's special mission is to promote the national school of composition. The orchestra's repertoire harmoniously combines masterpieces of world classics — from Tchaikovsky and Strauss to European avant—gardists - with works by outstanding Uzbek composers. Regular concerts of the NSO are held in the Great Hall of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan and are an important cultural event that unites music lovers of all generations and demonstrates to the world a unique synthesis of Oriental traditions and European symphonism.
