Tashkent Pilaf Center
Tashkent Pilaf Center (Osh Markazi) can undoubtedly be attributed to the unusual sights of Tashkent. And this is not accidental. Almost every guest of Tashkent comes here to taste the most delicious pilaf in Tashkent. There are many places in Tashkent where more delicious pilaf is prepared, but nothing can compare with the scale, volume of pilaf prepared in the center and the colorful pilaf center at the Tashkent TV Tower.
The history of the Pilov center dates back to the early 90s of the last century. At that time, the center was located in a small courtyard in an old building on Badamzar Street. The center became so popular that it stopped accommodating everyone and moved to a building specially built for the center near the Tashkent TV Tower.
Pilaf is the most popular brand of Uzbek cuisine.
Pilaf starts cooking in the morning in the courtyard of the center in five huge cast-iron cauldrons (containing 50 kg of rice each) on firewood. By 11 o'clock, the pilaf is ready, after 3 hours you will find only empty boilers.
The center serves only pilaf, tea and a variety of vegetable salads. No beer, no wine, no alcohol.
The huge bright hall can accommodate up to 500 people at the same time. The interior of the hall and the dishes are simple and not designed for a long time of escorting. The main idea of the center is the simplicity and speed of servicing several thousand customers daily. During lunch, up to 2 thousand people manage to eat here. Fast and accurate waiters scurry between the numerous tables.
There are 2 types of pilaf being prepared in the center. The most popular is the Tashkent wedding pilaf. But there is also Devzira pilaf made from a special dark rice of the Ferghana Valley. Here you can also take pilaf to take away.
For foreign tourists, the Pilaf center will be a very interesting place. Here you can not only have a delicious meal, but also see a fragment of the real life of the capital of Uzbekistan.
