Sadriddin Aini House Museum

The native penates of the well-known publicist, translator, and writer Sadriddin Aini in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan were converted into a museum after his death. The writer lived under the roof of this house from 1917 to 1950, hiding from the persecution of the emir of Bukhara. The museum is still open, receiving visitors from nine in the morning to eight in the evening every day.

The House Museum is located in the central part of the old town on a quiet, cozy street with the same name as Registan Square, near the architectural complex of three madrasahs. Opposite the courtyard, across the street, the Shoirlar Boghi Park is spread out with shady alleys, where the school named after the famous scientist Mirzo Ulugbek accepts students.

The building itself is conditionally divided into two sectors, one of which is the main building erected at the beginning of the 19th century, and the second was built by the writer himself during his stay under the roof of this house, and his friends helped Aini in the construction of the extension. The building has preserved the living quarters and offices in which Aini worked, creating famous works that glorified the writer.

Among the exhibits of the museum there are many items belonging to the pre-revolutionary era, as well as the period of Soviet rule, as well as Sadriddin Aini's personal belongings, among them a desk at which famous works were created. In one of the rooms there is a sandalwood (a stove for heating), painted with national patterns, where the writer spent time on cold, winter evenings. Aini's friends, also well-known people in Uzbekistan, often stayed in the guest rooms. There is a small orchard in the courtyard, in which the writer himself was engaged in tree planting, among the plantings there are apple trees, a peach and a vine. The bust of Aini, which was previously located outside the courtyard, is comfortably located in the shade of the trees.

The books of the writer, translated into most languages of the world and published in multiple copies, periodicals of those times and the originals of Aini's manuscripts are on public display. Creative evenings and various cultural and entertainment events are often held in the building of the house museum, attracting both locals and tourists.
