Pumpkin House Museum
The Pumpkin House Museum in Tashkent is an amazing, truly homely and unique place that offers tourists to escape from traditional routes and plunge into the world of Uzbek folk art and creativity.
This museum is a private initiative of the Pulatov family, who for many years have been collecting, growing, drying and hand-painting decorative pumpkins, turning them into real works of art. It is located in an old house, which in itself already immerses in a special atmosphere.
When visiting the Pumpkin House Museum, you will not just see the exhibits: there is an atmosphere of sincere hospitality here. The hosts welcome visitors as dear guests, treating them with tea and sweets, and personally conduct a guided tour, telling them about the history of pumpkins, its varieties and unique technology for creating souvenirs.
The exhibition features more than a thousand unique exhibits: pumpkins of all shapes and sizes have been transformed into colorful decorative panels, marionette dolls, snuffboxes, lampshades and even musical instruments. Many of the products are made with a national Uzbek flavor. In addition, visitors can take part in workshops on making applications or paintings, as well as purchase their favorite handmade souvenirs, which makes this museum a great place to buy authentic gifts and souvenirs from Uzbekistan.
