Mausoleum of Bahauddin Naqshband

The most important Muslim shrine is the memorial complex of Khoja Bahouddin Naqshbandi. Every self-respecting Muslim knows and reveres this name. The great theologian of the XIV century, the founder of the Naqshbandi Sufi order, was buried 12 km from Bukhara in the town of Kasri Orifon. There was once a pagan temple on the site of the present tomb of Naqshbandi.

It is known that Naqshbandi was Temur's spiritual mentor and performed the Hajj to Mecca 32 times. He urged people to be modest, rejected luxury. His philosophy was based on the principle: "Dil ba ao das bokur" ("God is in the heart, and labor is in the hands").

The mausoleum of St. Bahouddin Naqshband is considered a Central Asian Mecca. Believers from different Muslim countries come here to ask for the fulfillment of desires and the aversion of sins. It is believed that prayers from a holy place reach Allah best.…

There is a museum attached to the complex, which contains authentic information about the Sufi and about Sufism in general: Sufi clothes, books, cooking pots, and many other exhibits.
