Madari Khan Mausoleum

This cult complex was built in 1825 for the mother of Kokand ruler Umarkhan. He is also associated with the name of poet Nadira, Umarkhan's wife. The fate of Nadira, the wife of the ruler and poet Umarkhan, was tragic.: She was executed by order of the Emir of Bukhara, Nasrullah. In memory of the poetess, a monument of white marble and bronze was built near the mausoleum.

The Madari Khan Mausoleum is a small portal-domed tomb with small faceted minarets, behind which there is a cemetery. The brick-lined portal's decor is unusual. The patterns of the tiles are crushed, their coloring differs from other monuments of the East in the presence of yellow, red, and green. The masters shifted their main attention to the decorative decoration of buildings. That is why tombs are perceived not so much as works of architectural craftsmanship, but as works of art by the hands of ceramic craftsmen.
