Khiva Dance Festival: "The magic of Dance"
Every year in September, the International Dance Festival "Raqs Sehri" ("Magic of Dance") is held in Khiva, which gathers famous dancers, folklore groups, singers from Uzbekistan and other countries of the world. In addition to local residents, this unique event is attended by foreign tourists, journalists, representatives of embassies and international organizations.
The program of the Khiva Dance Festival is very rich: folklore shows, musical and theatrical performances, craft exhibitions, research and scientific forums, tasting of Khorezm cuisine, master classes, etc.
At the final stage, the organizers award the winners of the Khiva dance festival "Magic of Dance".
The real beauty and subtlety of the Khorezm Lazgi dance can be enjoyed in Ichan-Kala!
Last but not least, UNESCO, during its 14th session on December 12, 2019, included Lasgi in the list of intangible cultural heritage of mankind.
The Lasga dance originated in Khorezm and has centuries-old roots. Paintings of dancing people were found at the Toprak-Kala archaeological site, an outstanding cultural monument of Ancient Khorezm of the I-VI centuries AD.
