Former cinema

The building was built in the style of Stalinist neoclassicism — monumental, with a symmetrical facade, massive columns, moldings and decorative elements. The entrance is decorated with a large portico with arches, inside there was a spacious hall with a balcony and a stage, designed for about 600-800 seats.
The interiors were distinguished by high ceilings, ornamental plaster, and decorative lamps.

Since the middle of the 20th century, Nurkhon has become the main cinema in the city, a place where not only film screenings took place, but also city meetings, cultural evenings, and film screenings as part of film festivals.
In the 1970s and 1980s, both Soviet and foreign films were shown here, and the lobby was used for exhibitions and children's matinees.

After the collapse of the USSR, the building gradually lost its former importance. For some time it was used as a theater and cultural venue, later it was partially abandoned, and in recent years it has housed a theater studio and cultural organizations.

Despite its age, the building has retained its historical appearance — a monumental facade, decorative stucco and part of the interiors, which makes it one of the few architectural monuments of the Soviet era in Ferghana that deserve protection.
