Ferghana Airport

Ferghana Airport is located at an altitude of 604 meters above sea level. The airport has one runway 18/36 with asphalt pavement, measuring 2,862×50 meters. After the reconstruction, the airport is certified according to the 1st category of ICAO. Ferghana Airport, which is now part of Uzbekistan Airports JSC, was founded in 1938. Today, it provides reception and release of all types of aircraft operated by the NAC.

In Soviet times, the airport was a joint base airport — along with the flight detachment, military transport aviation was stationed there (since 1960 - the 194th Separate Guards Bryansk Red Banner Military Transport Aviation Regiment named after Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolai Gastello; since 1995 — the 63rd separate transport Regiment of the Uzbek Air Force).

In 1999, the airfield's military base was disbanded. Since 2009, the airport has been undergoing a phased reconstruction of the airport complex, modernization and retrofitting of technical facilities, the main part of which has already been completed and put into operation. Today, the airport operates regular passenger flights to cities in Uzbekistan and Russia in accordance with commercial demand. Based on generally accepted aviation standards, passengers are provided with a full range of services related to air transportation: booking and selling tickets, and checking in for flights.

Due to the modern equipment installed, customs and border control processes have been accelerated. The hall has a currency exchange office, a buffet, a souvenir kiosk, a post office, and a separate building where VIP-class passengers are served. The airport is located within the city limits. Its center can be reached by urban transport in 10-15 minutes, which indicates the compactness of urban planning and the availability of a developed urban transport infrastructure.
