Alexander Nevsky Chapel
The chapel was built at the end of the 19th century, in 1898, in memory of the Russian soldiers who died during the Andijan uprising of 1898, when local rebels rebelled against the tsarist administration.
This event became one of the most tragic episodes in the history of the Ferghana Valley at the end of the 19th century, and the chapel served as a monument of reconciliation and spiritual solace for the Russian community of the region.
The structure was built on the initiative of officers of the Ferghana military garrison and residents of the colonial settlement. The consecration was performed in honor of St. Alexander Nevsky, the patron saint of soldiers and defenders of the Fatherland, whose name symbolized strength, faith and fortitude.
