A civil servant was detained, the press service of the State Security Service reports.

The staff of the State Security Service, together with the staff of the territorial Administration of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office, conducted a special operational event. During the event, an employee of the Samarkand regional Agricultural Inspectorate was detained, who promised for $ 3,000 not to take measures against a farmer in the Samarkand region who had damaged the productivity of agricultural land with a total area of 50 acres. The detention was carried out at the time of receiving 2,500 US dollars. It is noted that the detainee had already received an advance payment of 500 US dollars.

A criminal case was opened on this fact under part 3 of the article "Fraud" and part 1 of the article "Giving a bribe" through the article "Types of accomplices to a crime" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. An attacker can face up to 8 years in prison. Investigative measures are currently underway.
