Galkin and Pugacheva's children found themselves at the center of a legal conflict

Twelve-year-old twins Lisa and Harry, the children of singer Alla Pugacheva and actor Maxim Galkin, faced the risk of losing their Russian citizenship. This was reported by the Russian online news media "Mash".

The reason lies in a new legal requirement that came into force after the family moved to Israel — there is no mandatory note on their birth certificates about belonging to the citizenship of the Russian Federation. According to the law adopted on October 26, 2023, all minors under the age of 14 are required to have such a mark on their certificate. Without it, it is impossible in the future to issue an internal or foreign passport, register at the place of residence and legally leave the country.

To restore their status, children must personally confirm their citizenship either at the offices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Russia or at the Russian consulate abroad with the mandatory participation of their parents.

Lisa and Harry are currently full-fledged citizens of Israel. According to local law, they are subject to military registration from the age of 16. Harry will have to serve 2.6 years, Lisa — 2 years. Israeli laws are strict — draft evasion is considered a criminal offense, and even long-term residence outside the country does not exempt from this responsibility.

Earlier in Russia, it was finally proposed to deprive Alla Pugacheva of pension payments. Public figures emphasize that artists who have fled their country should not receive any financial benefits from it.
