Temple of Job the Long-Suffering

The Temple of Job the Long—Suffering is an active Orthodox church of the Tashkent and Uzbekistan Diocese of the Central Asian Metropolitan District of the Russian Orthodox Church, located in the city of Urgench. Uzbekistan.

In the 1950s, a church community led by a priest appeared in the city, as the Russian settlement, which had long been formed in Urgench, felt the need for its own church organization.

In 1990, priest Vyacheslav Chechenov, rector of St. Nicholas Church (Kagan), was appointed to the temple, then Leonid Kozin, rector of St. Sergius of Radonezh Church (Navoi), served in the temple.

From the early 2000s until 2007, priest Sergiy Zavorotnev, rector of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (Kagan), served in the church.

Since 2007 — Hieromonk Nektary (Blinov).

In 2008, the foundation stone of the new church was laid.

In 2012, Priest Mark Matizov was appointed rector of the church.

The temple was built in 2014 and the interior is currently being decorated. Landscaping works are underway near the temple.
