Geological Museum of Uzbekistan

The Geological Museum of Uzbekistan is located in the Mirabad district in the south of Tashkent city. The museum was created on the basis of the collection of the former Uzbek Museum of Geology. It also presents materials collected over the course of 90 years by various organizations that have explored the bowels of Uzbekistan, Central Asia and other countries of the world. The museum was opened by the State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources of Uzbekistan, which was established in 1926.

The museum welcomes visitors from Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 17:30 and on Saturday from 08:30 to 15:00. The day off is Sunday. You can get acquainted with the work schedule on the official website of the Geological Museum. The ticket price depends on the excursion program and ranges from 2000-9000 Uzbek soums. Discounts are provided for groups.

The museum has a geological training center. He organizes excursions for schoolchildren and students. Lectures on various branches of geology are also given at the museum. The museum annually holds the "Eat Geologist" Olympiad among schoolchildren and participants of thematic circles. It goes through several rounds — school, district and republican. The winners of the last round participate in international meetings and competitions in geology.
