A new era in traffic control has begun in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. Cameras with artificial intelligence (AI) have been activated in test mode at 10 pedestrian crossings in Tashkent, which automatically record violations related to the non-admission of pedestrians. This news was reported by blogger Nikita Makarenko.
As soon as a pedestrian appears at the crossing, everyone who does not slow down receives fines. In just three days, the new systems revealed about 1,700 violations. In the near future, it is planned to expand this initiative by installing similar cameras at 30 more intersections in the city.
The appearance of such systems is certainly a step forward in ensuring road safety. However, a logical question arises: why is the introduction of such a significant innovation reported through the blogger's personal channel, and not through the official channels of the Traffic Safety Service?
